This is an absolutely wonderful exposition on how the Apollo Guidance Computer worked. You don't need to be a computer programmer to get 95% of it (lots of non-programmers have enjoyed it) and I listened to it with the visuals off and didn't feel I was missing anything, so I think it should be accessible to you.
