You just know that if your shed delivery slot is "between 6:30 and 7:00am (!!!) and you set your alarm for 6:25 and bounce out of bed without waking your partner and get dressed and brush your teeth and go downstairs and empty the dishwasher and get the dog's meds ready (my usual morning routines) and do some laundry, and then sit down at 6:53 to wait....

...there's no way your delivery is going to be on time. You're way too prepared. It'd only turn up between 6:30 and 7:00 if it was getting you out of bed.

It turned up about 7:30 and after all this "you MUST sign for it we WILL knock on your door" they didn't fucking knock did they. No one signed anything, I could've stayed in bed. I wouldn't have known it was there at all if I hadn't thought I heard something over the dulcet tones of the Columbo I was watching; it was then leaving the shed in the driveway.

That's a very familiar feeling, and it almost always accompanies the feeling of "if you're not actually going to do what you say you are, be honest and don't say it.'

New shed, at least, so yay?

Yay shed! A bunch of stuff that's cluttering up the house can soon be outside! :)

Yay, and then it will be at least as organized as you try to make it when it comes to putting it in the shed. But it will still be outside the house at that point!

It's terribly inconvenient. I stayed home on a day a delivery was promised by "end of day", which is 8pm. Because I had to sign for it. No show. Left for the night. Got home next day and it was on the front step, out in the open. Kid said no one rang or knocked.
